The Horse

Updated: Dec 6, 2021

Horses have never broken me.... they have nurtured and guided me from the time I was born.

From the moment I was able to walk I was drawn to be near them.

They speak words that most cannot hear.

Humans have broken me again and again.

My body has been violated and threatened.

My innocence stolen

My heart broken

     my spirit shattered...

And every time, it’s the horse that gently holds me and encourages me to remember to be courageous and focus on my strengths.

They've inspired me and helped me to recognize what is needed to mend and transform from the pain. So, I piece my spirit together ~ again it is the horse who will help me find the strength, courage and path to move forward.

Fun Facts:

Studies by The Heartmath Institute have provided a clue to why this occurs when one is in the presence of a horse.

Their researchers discovered the human heart has an electromagnetic field larger than that of the human brain: a magnetometer can measure the energy field of the heart that radiates from 2.4 meters to 3 meters around the human body.  The electromagnetic field of the horse is 5x larger than the human being- and it influences our heart rate while we are in their presence.

It has also been proven scientifically that the horse has a "coherent" heart rate which explains why we can feel calmer or better when we are close to them- which stimulates positive emotions-

Science has also proven that when we are interacting with the horse there not only emotional and psychological benefits- ones blood pressure and heart rate are stimulated come into normal range, stimulates higher beta-endorphins which act as pain suppressors and decrease stress levels, decreased feelings of anxiety, anger and hostility.
